I didn t really have that issue with the birko flor pair i own.

The birko flor material does not stretch like leather.
It does seem to give a bit even though man made and one of my pairs is into their third year of wearing.
They regularly get chucked in the washing machine as well and come out good as new.

Birkibuc looks and feels more similar to nubuck leather with a slight nap on the surface.
I read the descriptions for birkibuc birkoflor and they weren t very clear.
You configure the straps to the width of your foot and you are all set.
The arizona style seems much comfier i could never get on with madrids.
I have the birko flor it tends to come in much prettier designs.
